Allan Levine

Allan Levine is an award-winning writer with a knack for retelling history in accessible ways. He has published four historical mysteries, including The Blood Libel, which won the Margaret McWilliams Medal for Best Historical Fiction and was nominated for the Chapters/Books in Canada First Novel Award and the Arthur Ellis First Mystery Novel Award. His non-fiction titles are equally celebrated. Coming of Age: A History of the Jewish People of Manitoba won the McNally Robinson Book of the Year. King (D&M), a biography of one of Canada’s most colourful prime ministers, won the Alexander Kennedy Isbister Award for Non-Fiction. His latest, The Bootlegger’s Confession (Turnstone), is the second historical mystery in his Sam Klein trilogy, transporting readers back to 1920’s-era Winnipeg.
