Lawrence Scanlan has been a respected journalist for almost four decades, with numerous prizes to his credit, including three National Magazine Awards. One, The Man Who Listens to Horses, co-authored with Monty Roberts, remained on North American bestseller lists for more than a year and sold in excess of a million copies. His newest book, A Year of Living Generously: Dispatches from the Front Lines of Philanthropy (Douglas &McIntyre), charts his life-altering experiences volunteering with twelve different charities.
