David Waltner-Toews

David Waltner-Toews is a veterinarian and epidemiologist specializing in diseases transferred from animals to humans. A professor at the University of Guelph and founding president of Veterinarians without Borders/Vétérinaires sans Frontières—Canada, he is also a writer of considerable reputation, with several books of poetry, non-fiction, and now fiction to his credit. In 2008, he published two titles. Food, Sex and Salmonella (Douglas & McIntyre), is an impassioned discussion of food-borne diseases and our own responsibilities for global health and safety. Fear of Landing (Poisoned Pen) is a murder mystery featuring a Manitoba Mennonite veterinarian on the trail in Bali. David Waltner-Toews lives in Kitchener ON.
