Our afternoon begins with Rosanna Deerchild, poet and host of CBC Radio’s Unreserved, reading from calling down the sky, a collection honouring her mother, a residential school survivor. Then she will be joined by Senator Murray Sinclair, chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and Shelagh Rogers, Honourary Witness to the TRC and host of CBC’s The Next Chapter, for a conversation with Festival Director Charlene Diehl about the challenges and promises of genuine reconciliation between our country’s indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.
