Join us for a very special evening of discussion centred around Jane Urquhart’s latest novel The Night Stages (McClelland & Stewart), set mainly in a remote area of County Kerry in the ’40s and ’50s. An elegiac novel of emotional depth that vividly evokes a time and a place, The Night Stages explores the meaning of separation, the sorrows of fractured families, and the profound effect of home in a world where a way of life is changing. Urquhart is joined in conversation this evening by award-winning Winnipeg author Joan Thomas, whose most recent book, The Opening Sky, was a finalist for the 2014 Governor General’s Award for fiction and shortlisted for the 2015 McNally Robinson Book of the Year.
