THE WRITING CRAFT: Boot Camps for Writers: Who are your teachers?

Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Archived

Carol Shields Auditorium, Millennium Library, 251 Donald Street

Writers need solitude, but to really take your work to the next level, you need to find ways to connect with others who also practice the craft. Steven Ross Smith is an award-winning poet and performer with a long history of collaboration with writers and other artists. For almost two decades, he was the Executive Director of the Sage Hill writing Experience, and he’s now the Director of Literary Arts at The Banff Centre. Drawing on his extensive background, Steve will share the basics about enriching learning contexts for writers, from writer groups to workshops, seminars, retreats, and conferences. What will work best for you? How can you make your application stand out? Are there options for funding? Bring your questions…
